Over and Again

You look at me with adoring eyes,
the look that projects "loved"

and I am loved.

And I am your beloved.

I am your beloved as a riverbed
is to the wild power of the water above it;
ever deepening, ever wearing, twists
and turns towards
straight lines, jagged edges
generously give themselves away
to smooth stones, the earth of me churning,
evermore until the smallest particles are carried
away in your murky waters, as part of your course.

We run clear, transparent, inviting all to drink.

All there is to do is let it happen. Let it
happen over and again, over and again.
