In the Space of Zion
There is a thing I value more than anything.
It makes me think of myself as a field in which all
of humanity can play again as children.
I speak to it aloud. "of all the things I hold dear
in my life it is this which is most high."
I sit in silence in the space of Zion.
I listen.
"Let go of me." it whispers.
"Now! Climb!" it commands.
I hold on like an old pirate against the sea, proud
wrinkled face shouting in rebellion, Aaaarrrrggghh!
Defiant 'til the end.
I surrender to them.
I argue with them.
I negotiate with them.
Play with them.
Agree with them.
Never moving a single inch at all
I sit in the space where Zion was born. My eyes open.
There was no climbing, or defiance, no argument or play, no negotiations
agreement or shouting at all.
Just a man holding this thing in life most high in the space where
Zion was born.
